Here’s a message from the Forest Climate Alliance. This week, Wall Street investors, big timber corporations, and false-climate-solutions peddlers are again convening for their annual “Who Will Own the Forest?” Conference–though following last year’s public demonstrations and disruptions, they’ve renamed the conference “Canopy: Forests + Markets + Society” in the hope of attracting less attention. But we’ve got other ideas; Then, join us in Portland on Wednesday, September 25 at noon at the World Forestry Center to protest the “Who Will Own the Forest?” Conference and to demand an end to Wall Street’s profiteering and promotion of false climate solutions. The protest will happen while the conference attendees are on their lunch break outside, so come help us make some noise and ensure they know their schemes will face fierce community resistance.
